Recent onset facial nerve palsy

GP considers

1. Oral steroid
2. Oral acyclovir
3. Lacrilube at night /artificial tears during the day
4. Taping eyelid at night
5. Imaging if recurrent or no improvement after 6 weeks or other coexisting neurological signs

 

 

 

Oculoplastic clinic if

Corneal /conjunctival changes
or other sequels of facial nerve palsy
